Top 7 Things To Look For When Recruiting A Web Developer

When it comes to making a website we need web developers. Why? Since they have the knowledge, expertise and education to build and maintain a website you need their help, advice and services regardless of what your website may be about. You provide them with the relevant information and they build the kind of website you have in mind. These guys will do everything you need them just as long as you tell them everything you need, the kind of website you have in mind and what all the website should or should not have.

#1- Experience

Always ask a web developer whether or not he has worked for someone before. If he has, ask him to provide you with samples and try contacting the business or person that he built a website for. That way you could get an idea of how good he is at what he does. If the web developer is new to the field and has never taken up a project before, you could still try him out but it would be better to have him work with someone who does have experience.

#2- Marketing skills

Another important part of recruitment is that the web developer needs to be able to optimize your website on search engines so that a large number of people can see your website as fast and soon as possible. Ask them who they’d submit the website to, and if they’d be able to register your website with a search engine.

#3- Creativity

Usually many web developers may be good at building websites but you have to explain everything to them so that they can produce what you want them to. If they’re creative that’d be better because you won’t have to spoon-feed them when it comes to the content- they should be able to initiate on their own.

#4- Costs

Some web developers tend to take large sums of money out of clients who urgently need their services. These guys can ask for big salary which is not in your budget. Also, evaluate the skills of web designersbefore you recruit them.

#5- Communication skills

Is your web designer someone you can trust and get along with? Is he receptive to new ideas or is he/she someone who likes to go his own way? Do you need someone with an approach that is more who would rather do everything his way rather than taking your advice into account or would you want to work with someone who would be receptive to new ideas?

#6- Availability

Some web designers are so good at what they do that they may be employed by other companies and people too. Then, there are those who have social and familial obligations. Ensure that your web designer is available for you at times that you need their services because that way they would provide only you with their services and they would get the job done (or modify anything that needs to be modified) quickly.

#7- Will they be able to Build the Website by the Time you need them to do so?

Surely, you have an idea of when you need the website by and your web designer needs to be able to get the job done as soon as you need him/her to do so. If these guys charge you by the hour you need to ensure that they do the job that you are paying them for on time.
