Tips For Creating One-Hour Blog Posts

Writing a great blog post and making them go viral is no small task. If you are a blogger and write blog posts for companies then you must be looking for tips to improve your skills. Especially, if time is of essence and you need to do your posts in an hour. Often people stare into their computer screens for hours on end thinking about what to write in their blog. Once you let go of that block, you will be able to write about anything and everything. You can also use the net to browse till you find the seeds with which to sow your next blog.

Here are some tips that you can use to finish your blog (a great one, of course) post within an hour of starting.

Jotting your Ideas Down

Ideas don’t come to your head when you sit down in front of the computer. They happen when you are involved in something else, like cooking or gardening, even in the middle of the night. Carry a small notebook and note down what has inspired you. Don’t keep it for later because you are sure to forget it. If you are methodical in that way, you may never have to search for ideas. So when you are sitting down to write the post all you need to do is the research on the already selected topic.

Reading the Papers

If you still suffer through a serious case of writer’s block, then do not worry, you will always find something to write about when you scan the newspapers. Or you can go online and look at what the different newspapers from other countries have to say. You can pick a thread from there and weave a story from that. Of course, that doesn’t mean you have to rewrite their feature stories, you can add something of your own; maybe something that relates to your viewers.

Brief, Short and Concise

Normally blog posts are around 600-800 words. If you keep it to 450 words, that is also fine. The only thing that matters is that you have to keep the content crisp and brief. Don’t keep on writing and fitting your article with filler content, because your readers will not like it. If they don’t get valuable information, they will not come back.

Blogging is a Habitual Process

It is not easy to become a seasoned blogger in a day. If you want to finish a blog in an hour, you need to have practise for it. Once you write on various topics, you will get knowledgeable in them and with time, the amount of research you need to do with them would also come down. However, you need to set Google Alerts, so you get timely updates on your niche topics. This will keep your content fresh and useful.

See a Different Angle in Every Post

If you are running out of blog post, then visit other popular blogs. You can read the article, see a different angle to it and weave your own article. If you are quoting facts from them, then you can give them credit. But make sure the overall blog post is totally yours.
