Sure, you know better than to do these things to hang a picture, but some folks really do use the wrong tools for the job and they wonder why the project failed so badly. Hand tools are well and good for small “fix-it” jobs around the house, but to do a larger job, you really do need to have the right power tools to get it done right the first time.
Let’s say you decide you need to drill a hole to hang a picture, and you decide to use a Phillips screw driver bit with your cordless drill because you did not have a wood cutting drill bit handy. When you finally drill that hole you find that the hole is too large or oddly shaped, or that it will not take the screw or nail you wanted to hang the picture with. Well, now you have an ugly, useless hole in your wall and you will have to go get some puddy to fix the hole and start all over again. Maybe this time you will start with the right tool, eh?
How about your plan to build a shed in the backyard to store your yard tools and holiday decorations? You went to the trouble to buy the wood, hinges, door handle, shingles…the whole nine yards. But, then when you get started you find that you haven’t got the elbow grease to use a manual saw. Now, it’s time to go buy a motorized saw to get the job done. Although you think it may be cheaper to get that chain saw, just say no. Spend a bit more for a rotary saw with miter so you can cut clean lines and joints for your construction job.
The right and proper tool for the job with get it done faster and correctly without wasted time, effort and money. And, once you own them you can put them into your shed with your other toys and have them at the ready for your next project.
