Leather card holders

Leather business card holders are readily available, so customizing them will be a better idea, it will add individuality to it. Branded business card holders made of leather are popular in any business organization because they add to the owner’s personality and charm. They also lend a certain amount of professionalism to the business cards that people will definitely sit up and take notice. If the business card holder has a silver plate attached to it, you can engrave it with the name of your business and give it a more professional touch.

Making your own cards

Leather business cards may be a bit expensive for some people, so making them at home will be a great idea. All ones needs is a center finding ruler, a razor sharp knife, a pen, 4 prong chisel, leather lace, braiding needle, edge trimmer, scribe and of course, tanned leather of any thickness. The thickness depends on how strong and sturdy one needs it; 8 ounce will be ideal. It is very easy to make the holder. To begin, one has to cut the leather in its desired shape and then assemble them all together. One can apply the technique of appliqué braiding to this holder to make it extremely special. Cut the leather into three pieces, two pieces of four inches each and one piece of 12 inches in length. Round the edges of the first two small pieces, glue them and tie them down with bull clips. Mark the centre of the glued pieces with the help of a centre finding rule and then take the biggest leather piece, the one with 12 inches and wrap it around the glued pieces. Trim the edges to get a perfect shape, one can use the scribe and the chisel to carve out the desired shape. Finally to make the holder complete, one can braid the case with an 8 string simulated braid.  This is the outer portion of the card holder. See, it is so simple to make, and one can imprint the business card holder with company logo by using a powerful sticker.

To make the easiest business card holder, one can take a felt paper of any color, or any strong looking paper imprinted with company logo to make branded business card holders. The paper should be perfectly square in shape. Fold the paper in two, so one can get the centre point marked. Next, fold the paper in two, so the two folded portion meets at the earlier marked centre point. Then turn it around and fold the paper again in two. Open the paper, smoothen it and fold at the four corners; right at the creases of smallest square at each corner and then fold the paper again in two. Once that is done, fold the paper vertically three times; the folded parts meet at the edges. The holder is made and now there are three separate spaces to put the business cards; one inside the holder and two on the outside.
